Amanda joined the SILC team as the Assistant Executive Director in November of 2021. She spent most of her adult life in Austin, TX where she became passionate about education, support, and advocacy for people living with mental and behavioral health disabilities. She has been a self-advocate for workplace awareness, education, and training for employers to understand the complexities and create appropriate Human Resource strategies and management training that is supportive of and collaborative with employees living with mental illness.
A self-described nerd, she started college at 16 and graduated with her BA in Psychology in 2003 and earned her MBA in 2016. She has plans to attend law school to earn her Master of Legal Studies for Disability Law.
She lives in Soldotna with her equally nerdy other half Matt, and her four rescue fur babies.
